First and foremost, I credit this
album partially for lifting me out of the depression I was living in
about 7 years ago (however the hell it did it I don't know). So the album
and the song, "Ordinary World," have a special place in my heart. This
album is so hard to tag. There are so many styles on here: dance, new age,
rock, etc. "UMF" (lyric and style-wise) reminds me a bit of the playfulness
and randiness you can hear on "Violence of Summer" off the "Liberty" CD.
"Shotgun" I don't get, but I find it funny as hell anyway. Simon carries
an a capella performance pretty well on the intro to "None of the Above."
I absolutely love "Breath After Breath." You can here the Brazilian musical
influence in Warren's playing in this song (that and the Brazilian singer
featured on the song). As much as I love "Ordinary World," I would have
to say "Sin of the City" is my favorite track on the album. Hmmm, just
for the heck of it I'll have to ask the others how they might classify
this song because it defies all explanations and opinions of mine.
